Lister, the founder of antiseptic surgery Sir Joseph Lister (1827-1912) made а notable contribution in the field of surgery in 1867,while Lister was а professor of surgery in the University of Glasgow, he began to experiment with the use of carbolic acid in the treatment of wounds.
